September is Suicide Prevention month. My show this week touches on a very sensitive subject that is tough to talk about, but knowing the facts and signs could save a life. Suicide has become the third leading cause of death among young adults, and second leading cause among college students in the United States. It's reported that approximately 5,000 individuals between the ages of 15- 24 commit suicide, and the sad reality is that those lives possibly, could have been saved.
Today I will interview Adelena Marshall, a registered nurse that works in suicide prevention, and for the past 21 years has worked in Mental Health. Ms. Marshall was remorseful as she stated, that approximately 22 Veterans commit suicide daily. Please tune in Wednesday at 11:30 CST, for information and insight that may help save the life of a friend or family member.
