Welcome to Informative Conversations with Host Jacquelyn and Special Guest Monique Benson
Topic: The Miracle Kidney - Part 1
In episode one of this two-part interview, I talk with Monique Benson, about the miracle of receiving her kidney. We discuss the prophecy of healing that was spoken 15 years ago, how she received her Living Donor Kidney most profoundly, and how God demonstrated His infinite power as He orchestrated the receipt of her new kidney from identifying a donor to sending a kidney that was intended for another recipient. Monique is a living testimony that God continues to perform miracles! Monique identifies herself as a “Kidney Survivor” because survivor adequately describes her journey. Mrs. Benson is happily married to Tyrone L. Benson with two children, Bryce and Braelyn Benson, and two bonus sons, Matthew and Justin Benson. She and her husband recently became doting grandparents to Elliana Benson. Currently, Monique is an Emergency Management Specialist with the Health and Human Services (HHS). Monique’s ultimate goal in life is to share her remarkable story with others in the expectation that someone will consider becoming a Living Kidney Donor which will tremendously change someone’s quality of life.

Self-Care Healing Nurturing You after a disaster : Special guess Sherry Bennet
in Health
For a deeper dive into self-care practices and healing, join us every week as we explore mindfulness, wellness, and self-love. Our expert guests will share tips, stories, and transformative experiences to help you prioritize your well-being. Tune in to “Nurturing You: The Self-Care Healing Hour” and embark on a journey of self-discovery and renewal.
Sherry Bennett graduated from high school and beauty school in the same week. As a child, I stayed in trouble for lining up the neighborhood kids in my garage and giving them haircuts with sewing scissors for 25 cents. Since as far back as I can remember, all I ever saw was heads of hair that needed me...and still do! I have been hairdressing fifty hours a week, fifty weeks a year now for decades, until the Covid shutdown. That was the first time anyone had ever told me I couldn’t do my thing. After the shock wore off, being forced to stay home worked wonders for me personally. I actually gained balance. Now what makes a great day great includes time to stare at the ceiling and think about what I want to do. To be a human being, not just a human doing.

in Health
Jeffrey Sebell is a forty year survivor, promoting our abilities, focusing on our strengths through his book "Learning to Live with Yourself After Brain Injury", blogging, writing for a variety of publications, acting as a Keynote Speaker, and service. See more at his website: TBIsurvivor.com
Jeffrey experienced a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) in 1975, when, as the result of a car accident, he was in a coma for a month with frontal lobe and brain stem injuries. His goal now is to provide meaningful support to those who have experienced a brain injury by helping them find the means within themselves to live a fulfilled life. Since his TBI, he has had several jobs, but have most always found the time to spend on writing and speaking, and I was on the founding board of directors of the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Head Injury Foundation. Jeffrey is currently an author and speaker, living in Maine. He doesn't focus so much on re-telling his own experiences, as on what it takes for those of us who have had a Traumatic Brain Injury to live a fulfilled life.
Recovery Now is a gathering place for anyone seeking recovery from the challenges of life on life's terms. We discuss useful tools that have helped us lighten the load, of our journey through recovery.
More will be revealed! This is a "we" recovery program, because it is in the "we," that we find the new "me."
We focus on the four A's of Recovery: Awareness, Acceptance, Action and Adaptation. This is a place for survivor's striving to become thrivers, which takes a good bit of Warrior!
Hosted by Kim Justus, author of In a Flash: Miracles Here and Beyond and Hootie’s Hollow and the Magic Tree found at inaflash.org and "Like" me at facebook.com/inaflash.org too!
