PNN with Brook Hines and Jeanine Molloff - Eviction Moratorium and COVID Crazies

This week, Jeanine is filling in for Brook. The big story speaks to the manner which both Republicans and corporated 'centrist' Democrats allowed the eviction moratorium to expire--without even a gasp of concern--as they began early 'vacations.'  Missouri progressive congresswoman Cori Bush is leading a protest outside the Capitol by sleeping on the steps with Squad colleagues Ayanna Presley, Ihlan Omar and other concerned activists. Cori is demanded that the House reconvene immediately in order to extend the eviction moratorium. She has been joined by Senator Elizabeth Warren and Congressman Jim McGovern in the last 24 hours. McGovern is the Chair for the House Rules Committee--and he clearly stated that he is willing to reconvene immediately. So--where is Speaker Pelosi? Jim Clyburn? Steny Hoyer? According to press reports, they can't be inconvenienced, but have called this expiration of the eviction moratorium-- 'unfortunate.' This story will include some details about which corporate forces are behind this willingness of centrist dems to 'let the clock run out.' 

Our smaller story will deal with what I now call--The COVID FIles. I will outline some of the criminally negligent and dangerous actions coming from various state level Attorney Generals--challenging mask mandates as the Delta variant surges out of control--especially prime ringleader, Mo. Attorney General Eric Schmitt.
