In 2011, the Fukushima nuclear power plant suffered a major breach when a tsunami knocked out the plant. As a result, nuclear waste flooded that area of Japan. For over a year, the TEPCO corporation obfuscated and just plain lied about the severity of this incident. Now 10 years later, Japanese authorities have cleared a plan to dump the nuclear wastewater into the ocean, despite international condemnation.
During this episode, we will revisit the original disaster now referred to simply as 'Fukushima.' We will also discuss any alternative ideas for this wastewater treatment and disposal.
