EJR with Jeanine Molloff--Environmental Racists Control Air, Water--and Media

Once again, environmental racism is on the agenda. This time, we are looking at the areas termed as 'sacrifice zones.'  I will speak to the dire injustice such a concept engenders, both in theory and in practice. In addition to reducing communities of color to throw away 'sacrifice zones', I will speak to the foul strategies employed by polluters and their corporate attorneys against any media group that dares to call them out. The specific example in this episode is the case of the water protectors at Standing Rock, and the coverage by a media group known as Unicorn Riot.

SLAPP suits, (which are Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation) are aimed to censor activists and any honest journalists. The aim is to intimidate and censor. Unicorn Riot is facing such a SLAPP suit.
