EJR with Jeanine Molloff-- Justice of Any Type Demands We End the Filibuster

This show exists to report environmental injustice and demand substantive reform. Recently, it has come to my attention that the problem is far more vast than previously considered. In order to bring about environmental justice, (or for that matter--any type of justice), we must have laws that reflect equal justice before TRUE rule of law. Presently, 'rule of law' in the USA--is on life support and failing fast. This is due to the fact that the US Congress is staffed by corporate toadies and political cowards. The Congress does not represent the will of the people and hasn't for some time. Even when progressives are elected, their hands are tied by legislative 'rules' in the Senate which effectively neuter any semblance of democratic rule. Chief among these legislative obscenites--is the filibuster. In essence, because of the filibuster, a small group of senators can block legislation and thwart the will of the people for their corporate masters. 

The Brennan Center for Justice has published a very thorough paper detailing the history and the daily effect of the filibuster, in addition to providing solutions. 

This show will discuss why the filibuster must be eradicated in order to actually establish a functional democracy.
