As national shortages of COVID vaccines have dominated the news cycle, we have yet to question the dominant narrative that blindly accepts the claims of BIG PHARMA and those medical pros who are in their employ. CEPR Lead Economist Dean Baker DOES not accept the generic excuses. Baker explains, along with others, that the shortages could have been reduced, (if not prevented outright), if the US had abandoned the automatic issuance of patent monopolies to pharmaceutical corporations who manufacture the vaccine.
