March to replace Biden: Victor Tiffany joins to discuss

AS Democratic Party racked up missteps today, we talk to activist Victor Tiffany to get the skinny about a pair of marches aimed at helping the party find its way through a series of unforced errors.

The party is morbidly out of touch as 88% of Democrats support Medicare for All (68% of Independents, and even 46% of Republicans support it). Yet 76% of the DNC platform committee voted AGAINST adding Medicare for All during a pandemic that threatens to make The Great Depression seem like 70s stagflation. Also, 67% of Americans and 78% of Democrats support marijuana legalization and the platform committee voted to oppose it 67% to 31%. There's no excuse for this. 

August 1 the Movement for a People's Party has organized a march to pressure the Dem party to move left to GOTV base voters. Rejecting decriminalization of marijuana and Medicare for All are massive facepalm moment at a time when we should be crushing it. It's lunacy that instead of supporting our soon-to-be-homeless citizenry, the Dems have suggested we fund legal aid so lawyers can fight it out with landlords. This helps no one, and there's reasonable explanation for it when Congress and the White House have given away more than 4 TRILLION to corporations with nothing to show for it in return. 

August 8 there is a second "March To Replace Biden," which aims to send the message that we need to replace Joe Biden with someone (anyone!) who can actually win the election. The alternative is likely 4 more years of Trump.
