Paul spent most of his childhood growing up on a dairy farm a few miles north of Cassville, MO. When the chores were done and playtime came, because his siblings were much older than himself, he found that his imagination was his greatest ally, allowing him to create cities and characters in his mind.  The first story he wrote was about one of the cats on the farm, making the cat into a human being, and when he got a typewriter for Christmas, more stories followed.  That was just beginning a lifelong career as a writer.

After he graduated from Cassville R-4 high school attended Crowder College and majored in business and automotive technology.  After leaving college he then went back to his first love writing, starting with several articles in various automotive magazines.   This lead to his first book Chevelle SS Restoration Guide that was published by Motorbooks International, nine other titles would follow with this publisher, before he would venture into the publishing field himself and start his own company- PAH Publishing.  With his own company he would author, under many different pen-names, more twenty other titles.

In 2015 that call back to creating stories would call him back and under the pen name Thomas S. Mulvaugh he would author and publish his first novel- Blood Necklace- a murder mystery set in his hometown of Cassville, MO.  That centers on former Kansas City Homicide Detective Rick Ryder whose high school sweetheart is murdered at Roaring River State Park, and he returns to Cassville to solve but what he finds is a twisting tale of lies that will change his life forever.
