I'm a Chicago native who retired to a lake and golf community in Loudon, Tennessee (outside of Knoxville), with my husband Jim in 2004. In my professional work experience, I was a social worker on Chicago's south side, an interior designer on the North Shore, and a paralegal employed by a sole practitioner.
I wrote my first book in 2011 titled, Six Minutes to Midnight, about the theft of a nuclear weapon from a Y-12 shipment by a band of social misfits. I had become acquainted with a former nuclear weapons courier who became my consultant on the project and fostered my interest in researching a subject for authenticity in a fictional story. Since that time, I've written 6 other books: a series of 5 cozy-style international travel mysteries featuring a female tour operator turned amateur sleuth; and one biography of a friend's difficult, but ultimately successful, treatment of paralytic polio.
