Please join us this episode as we are joined by scholar/activist, Dr. Ray Robertson. Dr. Robertson is an Associate Professor of Sociology at Lamar University. He is also a critical race theorist and has published articles on African American student collegiate social adjustment/academic success, the Black Seminoles, and why African American women choose home births
Ray is joining us to discuss a recent article he published detailing many of the trials and tribulations of black/African students and race conscious scholars face on predominately white institutions (PWIs) in America. PWIs continue to methodically try to dilute the scholarship of race conscious academics, as well as prevent black/African students from gaining deeper, more progressive, perspectives on race and institutional racism in their classrooms. Dr. Robertson’s cogent piece deconstructed all of the above. Join us this episode as we discuss this nefarious aspect of education in America.
