Cultural Misnomers: America's Planned Cultual Ignorance

Please tune into this episode as we deconstruct the roots, causes, and detrimental impact of America’s Cultural Ignorance. We will explore America’s white supremacist history and how it has set the table for the institutionally racist nation that the US is apparently so proud of being today. From referring to all Muslims as Arabs or all Arabs as Muslims---there is no end to the deep levels of cultural ignorance many Americans have been systematically programmed to take part in. Where did the term Hispanic come from and why is it offensive to many Spanish speaking indigenous peoples of the Western Hemisphere? Why do many Americans refer to anyone who speaks Spanish as Spanish? Why do Americans confuse nationality with “race”? Why do so many Americans believe Eygpt and Libya are in the "Mid East" and why the name, "Middle East"? Why are American born Africans simply referred to as “black”? Why does America celebrate slave owners, murderers, and rapist like: Christopher Columbus, George Washington, and Andrew Jackson? We will explore all these important questions as well as break down the racist programming tens of millions of “American” children are going through now, by way of the US’s institutionally racist public school systems. This is a dialogue that the US corporate media should facilitate---but yes, its roots are racist as well. The US corporate media will be on our verbal “chopping block” as well.
