False Media: Desconstructing the Corporate Media in America

Please join us this episode as we pay particular attention to the continued corporate usurpation of TV and radio airwaves as well as the internet, by behemoth corporations. The most recent merger of Comcast cable with NBC Universal bodes to have deleterious ramifications for most Americans. Dating back to the 1996 Telecom act the US has seen steady decline in community based radio, as well as a gigantic drop in media ownership by people of color. At the same time the myth of “Liberal media” looms. The US corporate media is not liberal nor is it progressive...or balanced. The US corporate media continues to serve its corporate masters and has no moral regard for telling a balanced truth about a range of critical issues. This has played an important role in dumbing down the American populous regarding everything from issues in the “Middle East” to war to race based issues in America. We will be breaking down the media as well as discussing various current events from a far left perspective. Oh---and as always we will be playing some great resistance oriented and thought provoking Hip Hop Music.
