Welcome to our second installment of "Perseverance Weekend" ....
Tonight, we're going to discuss -- and show some spectacular images -- of the sublime celestial object that has graced our northern skies for weeks--
Comet NEOWISE.
The other night, for the first time, I was finally able to view this "once-in-a-generation" spectacle from my own patio ... here in the Land of Enhantment -- both with my naked eyes ... and even more dramatic ... with 7X50 binoculars -- before the highly unusual "early monsoon clouds and rain" that have persisted over the American Southwest for more than a month now ... closed in once more ... for another rain-soaked dreary week "in a desert" ....
My guest -- world-famous astrobiologist, Dr. Chandra Wickramasinghe -- is going to describe tonight why comets in general, and THIS comet in particular, are vital to understanding what could happen in a few short months -- when three new Missions to "search for Life on Mars" finally arrive early next year at the Red Planet.
Have comets, in fact, literally "seeded" the Martian landscape -- and all other "habitable niches in the solar system" -- with life forms that are TOTALLY recognizable as "Earth-like" ... because ... life on Earth ultimately came from the same INTERPLANETARY ... nay, even INTERSTELLAR ... source?!
