Tennessee Republicans have expelled two of three Democratic state representatives from the House who joined protesters during their storming of the state capitol building last week. When Rep. Gloria Johnson was asked why she survived, by one vote, while Justin Jones and Justin Pearson were expelled, rather than admit that she had done less than the other two in disrupting the work of the House, she accused the Republicans of racism. The former Northern Virginia schools superintendent charged with covering up a rape by a gender-bending student showed up to court wearing earrings and painted nails.
