We have lost another Tuskegee hero and heaven has gained an angel.
My heart is heaven because I have known Chief Master Sgt. Richard Hall, Jr. "Pops" to me, from the age of 10. He was a distinguished member of the Tuskegee Airmen and Central Florida native. He received the Congressional Gold Medal from President George W. Bush in Washington in 2007.
He and my father were stationed at Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul, Il in 1960. Mr. Hall made his transition January 25th at the age of 97. He was happy and vibrant until his last day, and was looking forward to celebrating his 100th birthday. God had other plans for him.
Friday, January 29th, 11:00 am CST, interview is with Barbara Chandler, manager of Hannibal Square Heritage Center where a life sized sculpture of Mr. Hall stands outside in Winter Park, Florida
