Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz has vetoed a bill guaranteeing minimum wages and setting rules for firing ride-share drivers following a warning from Uber that the company would end service in Greater Minnesota and only offer premium ride services in the Twin Cities if the bill passed.

Instead of giving final approval to the bill, Walz on Thursday, May 25, signed an executive order commissioning a study to explore options for the industry to be considered in a later legislative session.  It would affect disabled people getting approximately 22 rides a month through Lyft.  The compettion is causing Uber to challenge the Minnesota legislature.

We talk about how Walmart has suddenly closed four stores in a critical part of Chicago because of loss of revune and theft.  A 24 off duty female officer in Chicago got killed by four Black youth on May 11.  Pianki always wants to drive home the level of violence by Blacks in the urban community but Don tries to pursue the causes and solutions.  There are many perspectives in analyzing our most difficult problems in America.
