Hello, I’m Art Johnston, running for Minnesota House District 7B, Western Duluth.

Duluth is our town and it is a wonderful place to live and work: we have beautiful green spaces; a multitude of trails; Lake Superior; mountains; amazing architecture; a history which is eminent in the development and in the current prosperity of our entire country; and we have great, hard working people.

We are connected to and prosper with the resources that we have in abundance: we have the largest inland port in the world; we provide resources like mining and logging; we have robust medical and education industries; we have many small and large businesses; and we have a tourist industry that shares in our beauty.

But things aren’t going good in paradise. This is an election to reclaim the soul of Duluth. We have never-before experienced unemployment levels; our city is empty; we are laying off thousands, from nurses to paper mill workers, and we have a City with plummeting revenues. Duluth has been represented for too many years by the DFL who has turned its back on business, labor, the economy, and its citizens. The DFL do not tolerate differences in thought, and kowtows to the Cities’ political correctness.  We will discuss more of his views on the show.
