A group called Turning Point which promotes conservative values on campuses, was recently targeted in Nebraska on a campus university. The group was not welcomed and was given mixed messages by faculty and administration. They use watered down techniques to promote capitalism and conservatism while attacking socialism. A university professor, Courtney, confronted Turning Point with names and phrases like Neo Fascism, white privileges, KKK and Becky which means white women asserting white power. Word got out that university employees were targeting Turning Point's young representative with hate speech. NPR handled the story efficiently, showing both sides. Eventually, Courtney - the professor who is in PhD training, was removed from the classroom due to her behavior at protest while the other rep, Katie, got favorable coverage for trying to promote her conservative organization. We will discuss that and more including Kanye's recent statement on slavery.
