When a black person has reached a level of success does that mean they sold out

There's some people that has the mindset just because a person reach a level of success they think that that person has sold out. Is everybody on the mainstream sellout? And just what is mainstream?  Let's talk about being successful doesn't mean you have to sell yourself short for anyone.
