She has 42 years cumulative training and experience in the practice of internal medicine, family and occupational medicine, OBGYN and Women's Health. Her present focus is on the early detection, prevention and reversal of obesity and diabetes, as she believes it underlies the majority of chronic disease. Sister Kareema is a proponent of the Functional Medicine approach to disease, which looks to determine the root causes of disease instead of merely drugging the symptoms. "
