Tonight's special guest is Lilly Scheibelhut from Colorado. When she was 30 years old, she remembered that she was sexually, psychologically, and emotionally abused as a child. It all came back to her on June 29, 2023. That night, her mind restored memory after memory like downloading a horror movie. She was abused for many years by two close relatives. Her repressed memories start at age five and continue even into her early twenties. It’s the type of stuff you read about and never dream it could be you. Even today, the reality is hard to reconcile, but she never wants to forget again. These memories subconsciously tormented her past and consciously heal her today. Lilly is now writing a memoir and has started a blog about how she heals from trauma: howiheal.blog. I want people to know they’re not alone, says Lilly. We all have shame in our pasts. Through therapy, love, and support, she is changing into a person she truly admires. It’s my life’s purpose to end child sexual abuse and help people feel loved and connected. I would be honored if you’d subscribe to my blog and help me spread my purpose. Together, I believe we all can heal. Their trauma-informed perspectives as survivor-professionals will help them guide discussions on the issues of child abuse, trauma, and healthy human sexuality that spring from questions and topics brought to us by our listeners. ~~ Everyone's invited to engage in tonight's show. ~~ Please visit the NAASCA.org web site.
