Miss X almost made it through this show without crying.. almost... until 14:43.
TRUE STORY: I was told my first word was 'Hiya', and that was the phrase used by Froggy on The Ghoul show. It is very likely
that my parents had this show on when I was one or two years old, as they were both horror monster movie watchers.
Miss X discusses the career and recent loss of 'THE GHOUL', A LEGENDARY, ICONIC HORROR MOVIE HOST ON DETROIT AND CLEVBURG AREA TV in the 1970's and 80's.
THE GHOUL WAS THE HOST OF AFTERNOON AND EVENING HORROR MOVIE SHOWS, and Miss X counts him as a major influence, with his incredibly frenetic, highly energetic show, and Miss X definitely patterned her natural exuberant, energetic nature after The Ghoul, and what he brought to those old, terrible monster horror movies.
I was very privileged to hear from people who knew The Ghoul personally, and to work in television with someone who worked on his show.
RON 'THE GHOUL': THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE JOY, ENERGY AND FUN THAT YOU BROUGHT TO SO MANY OF US ON THE WEEKENDS. REST IN PEACE.
