Often in dating, BLACK MEN are warned to avoid BLACK WOMEN with deep seeded DADDY ISSUES, especially if those issues stem from the abandonment of their father during their childhood. Our special guest, DR. TIFFANY KING, spent years contending with the sporadic involvement of her father in her life, and eventually had to regularly attend THERAPY to deal with those issues. She was an honor roll student, a high school star athlete, and received full scholarships to attend college and eventually went on to get her DOCTORATE IN PSYCHOLOGY. With all her academic and professional success, she continuously dealt with the idea that her father in his sporadic absence didn't seem to fully acknowledge her. The lack of father validation made her relationship with men difficult, but after years of therapy, she eventually met her now husband of 18 years, DR. CLARK about dating TIFFANY in the early years and having to overcome her TRUST ISSUES. We ask DR. KING what did her husband do in the beginning to aid her in trusting him, and how much did THERAPY help her to get to that point?
