Have you heard about the ongoing war in the DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO, also know as the GREAT WAR OF AFRICA? Probably not and due to war, malnutrition, & disease the conflict has killed approximately 5.4 million people since its inception? If you're wondering why you haven't heard anything about this conflict, just look inside your CELLPHONE and other electronics. The minerals used in the circuits of your cellphone may have been illegally smuggled out of the Congo and mined by 8-10 year-old child workers with their mother's at home hoping not to get RAPED by men from the rebel armies currently in control of the region. Approximately 20-50% of the world's Coltan supply comes from this war torn region and the world's demand for cell phone and electronics inherently funds this war you've never heard of. The U.S. government passed legislation on tech companies to prove the minerals in their electronics are not from the Congo and other areas in the region. Is this enough or should the U.S. government do more? What can you do individually to help our brother and sisters in the Congo? MENTAL DIALOGUE asking the question America's afraid to ask. "ALL I ASK IS THAT YOU THINK"
