James Durbin is an American singer, songwriter and guitarist from Santa Cruz, California, who finished fourth place on the tenth season of American Idol. Durbin was a Top 4 finalist on season 10, but despite his early elimination, he received a homecoming celebration previously reserved for Top 3 contestants, the first time such an exception on the homecoming policy was made by the show. "Durbin Day" is to this day the largest public gathering of people in the history of Santa Cruz, CA. A whopping 30,000 people flocked to the stage at The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk to catch a glimpse of their hometown hero's return. James worked & performed alongside many incredible musicians including: Stevie Wonder, Bob Babbitt of The Funk Brothers, Don Was, Zakk Wylde, Sheryl Crow, Tom Jones, Mick Mars & Steel Panther to name a few. He appeared on the American Idol Season 10 finale, singing "Livin' After Midnight" and "Breaking the Law" alongside British heavy metal legends Judas Priest. Durbin has appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Live with Regis and Kelly, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Having toured the world on the 49 date Idol's Live Tour with sold out shows across the US, Canada & Philippines, landed supporting slots on tours with Buckcherry, Evanescence, Drowning Pool & Steel Panther as well as headlined his own shows, self produced "Destroy The Night: Tribute to The Doors & Led Zeppelin" & performed for our nations troops in Kyrgyzstan.
