Neil Godfrey and Pete Murray have been writing music together for almost 20 years in Southern California. While they began their musical journeys in heavy, rock based projects, glimpses of the majestic electro melodic sound that is Life on Planet 9 can be heard in some of their earliest records. Life on Planet 9 was introduced to the world in 2011 with it’s debut release “Bittersweet.” Featuring a more acoustic/electronic sound, Murray admits the record was born out of a “need to find a home for several acoustic, down tempo songs we had in the archives that didn’t fit in with the other projects we had going on at the time. I feel like with this second album, we’ve really embraced what this is.” Surely this second record represents the duo’s Sistine Chapel to date. Massive walls of gushing guitar melodies are intertwined with equally massive vocal beds – all rooted in thumping electronic beats and atmospherics. Godfrey describes this record as “more about creating the passion of the music...what makes us happy, what drives us.” “The Theory of Everything” will be available worldwide August 26, 2014 at cdbaby.com, itunes, amazon and most other electronic outlets.
