Few bands of recent memory challenge the listener - while also managing to draw you in with melodic offerings - as much as the fast-rising Serosia, and their new E.P, 'Variables'. Hailing from Dallas, Texas, the band is comprised of Lucas D'Agata - vocals, Derek Troxell - guitars, Joseph Kuban - bass, and Anthony D'Agata - drums. "The best way to describe our sound is emotional and meaningful," explains the group's singer, Lucas. "We are not a love song band, nor do we care about how hard you can party or how many chicks you think you can score. Musically, we are aggressive yet delicate, with a strong sense of detail and vision." And this description is prominently on display throughout such stand out tracks as "Friendly Fire," "The Architect," and "Superposition." Although the band has issued several previous releases ('The Current State of Being,' 'Perspective and Balance,' and 'The Vehicle'), 'Variables' is the group's first proper national release. A striking video for the aforementioned "Superposition" is also turning quite a few heads, as well. As D'Agata points out, "Superposition, by definition, is a fundamental principle of quantum mechanics that holds that a physical system - such as an electron - exists partly in all its particular, theoretically possible states simultaneously; but, when measured or observed, it gives a result corresponding to only one of the possible configurations. The song itself is a reflection of this principle, in that the observer viewing themselves will only see the self in which he/she chooses. And the quartet succeeds in translating their far-reaching sound from the studio to the stage. We are intense and REAL. If there was a single word that could describe a Serosia show it would be, "ENERGY." For more information, visit www.serosiaband.com
