The Kerri Edelman Show presents Jazz Musician Monica Chapman

Monica Chapman was born in Romania and came to Canada with her family at the age of nine. She attained her degree in piano performance and voice at the Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from York University. Monica recorded a CD titled "Sincerely", featuring Broadway show tunes. Monica has evolved into a jazz performer over the past five years and she appears at jazz venues throughout Canada. Monica is inspired by such jazz legends as Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Lena Horne, Nina Simone and Billie Holiday, but makes the music you are about to hear very much her own. Her voice is distinct and unforgetteable. Monica's debut jazz album 'But Beautiful', produced by Bill King is now available on iTunes, CD Baby and at her shows. She was recently interviewed on "Liver Radio, Bob & Fiona",UK with presenter Bob Jackson where he also featured music from her debut album 'But Beautiful,also featured on CBC Radio 1 by presenter Craig Norris on "The Morning Edition" and on the BBC in the UK where presenter Nick Robins introduced Monica with her title song 'But Beautiful' and played it on his show. This CD was just recently released and is already being featured worldwide. She has been working with iconic music producer/pianist Bill King on this new album over this past year and put the finest renowned musicians to play on it: Bill King (piano), Duncan Hopkins (bass), Mark Kelso (drums), William Sperandei (trumpet), Anne Lindsay (violin), Reg Schwager (guitar) and Luis Jorge Papiosco (percussion) and was recorded at Inception Sound Studios in Toronto, engineered by the brilliant Michael Haas.
