Laura Madsen is a Jersey girl blogger, writer, and mother. She is the creator, founder, and writer of The Lady in Red Blog, which is not your typical blogging site. Most blogs focus on just one topic like food, fashion, or sports. Laura is not a niche blogger and approaches topics ranging from restaurant reviews, to art exhibitions, aspiring musicians, up-and-coming businesses, and even highlights some of her own views about mainstream issues in the media, or touches on personal attributes of her own life. There’s really nothing she won’t write about. She grew up in Toms River, NJ, was first published in Young Miss magazine at age 17 (which was the predecessor to Teen Vogue), and has written for various publications over the past twenty years. She is a Rutgers University graduate and currently also writes for Patch Media, which is under the umbrella of AOL. Laura’s favorite color is purple, she loves a glass of wine with dinner, and is into gardening and cooking. Laura is an amateur figure skater and a seasonal kayaker. Writing is her biggest passion, aside from being the best mom she can be. Over the past year she’s had many highlights in her writing career such as meeting Jon Bon Jovi at the Soul Kitchen and having the opportunity to write about it; interviewing Chef Nicholas Harary, the owner of the #1 Zagat Rated restaurant in New Jersey; and most recently she had her first blog on “Bloomberg’s Bubbly Beverage Ban” go national with Patch.
