If you have an incarcerated loved one that you can help call into the show, we would love to hear from them on this episode: Thanksgiving with Prisoners. We would love to hear the things they are thankful for. The call in number is 563-999-3667. Calls will be limited to 10 minutes per person if we have a high call volume.
As the Nation celebrates Thanksgiving with their families prisoners are left behind. Separated from their families and communities causes deep sadness. Slave labor wage theft leaves prisoners too poor to buy celebratory food supplies. Extraction of funds from prisoner's families and friends for a myriad of prison related expenses (i.e. phone, media, visits, etc.) has some financially unable to truly celebrate the holidays. The endless prison violence, brutality, and oppression causes severe trauma and harm to countless Americans. The draconian harshly long prison sentences, likened to slow death sentences, has put a cloud of genocide over prisons across the Nation. The prolific overuse of solitary confinement is driving our trouble people to madness. In totality it is a bleak world of misery for our imprisoned fellow citizens. But there is one bright light for our people. You! Those that listen and subscribe to the podcast. That share social media posts. Or advocate for the voiceless. Prisoners share in their own words what you mean to them! While the Hosts share some recent developments. In the end it is an Thanksgiving episode that will inspire and embolden listeners to the true impact they are making. How their presence is making a more socially equitable criminal justice system!
